Bavaria’s Minister of Tourism, Michaela Kaniber, symbolically presented a grant notification in the amount of approximately 584,000 euros to representatives of the CENTOURIS Institute at the University of Passau for the “ReiseLab” research project. This research initiative builds on its predecessor, the ReiseZukunft project, with the aim of supporting the transformation processes in travel distribution and identifying new opportunities for the industry in Bavaria. Project partners include the Association of Internet Travel Distribution (VIR), Raiffeisen-Tours RT-Reisen GmbH, Reiseland GmbH & Co. KG, and Kermax GmbH. With the support of these industry partners, the project aims to ensure practical applicability and a direct impact on business operations.
Thomas Bösl, Director of Strategy & International Business Development for the RT/Raiffeisen Touristik Group, commented: “The unique feature of this project lies in the close connection between academia and practice. Through targeted knowledge transfer, medium-sized travel agencies and tour operators in particular will benefit, receiving crucial support to successfully meet the challenges they face.”
